A PERMANENT TRIBUTE TO DAVE SILVERIA: With suggestions from many of you, the Half Moon Bay Little League Board is planning to honor former Little League president Dave Silveria in a number of ways:

• Smith 5 is being renamed “Dave Silveria Field.”
• Closing day will be known as “Dave Silveria Day.”
• HMB Little League is establishing a $500 college scholarship fund for a HMB High School graduating senior.
• HMB Little League is erecting a memorial plaque and flagpole in Dave’s honor, as a tribute to a man who stood tall among us at Smith Field. On its base will be a bronze plaque bearing his name, and his credo for all: “It’s for the kids!” The flagpole project is the final touch to the ongoing improvements we’ve made at Smith over the past several years. We will be dedicating this new 30-foot flagpole to the memory of Dave Silveria at Closing Day ceremonies. (view a PDF of the plaque design)

To make these tributes a reality, we need your help. Due to budget constraints, we are looking to the Little League parent community for help in underwriting the cost of these memorial projects. In all, the flagpole, scholarship and Smith 5 renaming will cost $2,500.

If you’d like to contribute to the Dave Silveria Tribute Fund, please send your donation to:
Half Moon Bay Little League
